Celebrating our 25th year anniversary, AtHome America began its efforts to improve the quality of life for our homeless U.S. veterans. AtHome America co-founders (and sisters) Lisa Brandau and Becky Wright knew they wanted to select a charitable endeavor for which they could share their successes.
The choice was natural. From special projects to visiting veterans' homes to participating in national veteran's events, such as Stand Down, the company's co-founders, Home Office staff and independent sales contractors have tirelessly worked to support U.S. veterans, especially those who are homeless.
In 2001, ever mindful of the company's mission to place God first, followed by family and then business, Lisa and Becky felt it was important to establish a foundation which could extend the good work currently being done for the veterans to ALL the U.S. homeless, including women and children. This worthwhile endeavor was named the HelpAmerica Foundation, and to date has raised more than $1 million for this great cause.
In 2002, AtHome America and the HelpAmerica Foundation launched its "Thanks a Million!" campaign. Through in-home presentations around the country called HomeShows, their website and Catalogs, the goal was to make 1 million citizens aware of the plight of so many who have given so much for our freedom. The company-wide commitment has grown from a small endeavor – just over $10,000 in the first year – to millions of dollars.
AtHome America is proud to provide continued support to the brave men and women who preserve, protect and defend our country. Our love for America has never been stronger, and this dedication is sure to carry the great works of AtHome America and its committed national sales organization into 2008 and beyond.
