ALS Tag Days!
Since the inception of Hope 4 Mike in 2004, the AtHome America Family has participated in Les Turner ALS Tag Days, an annual event to raise funds for ALS awareness, patient services and research to find a cure.
May is National ALS Awareness Month, and each year, thousands of volunteers from across the United States join together to raise money.
The 2007 Tag Days, held in more than 40 communities around Chicagoland alone, raised more than $100,000. This year was the 13th year for the event, and to date, more than $1 million has been raised. The AtHome America team collected more than $6,600 on May 12-13, 2007.
The AtHome America Family was glad to participate, with employees, HomeStyle Specialists, family and friends giving up their Friday and Saturday afternoons to collect money. The AtHome America team has been working for ALS since 2004, when Mike Wright, husband to AHA co-founder Becky Wright, was diagnosed with the disease.
Jan Johnson, one of AtHome America's independent sales consultants — or HomeStyle Specialists — coordinated a separate Tag Days event in Joliet, Illinois. Together with her family and other HomeStyle Specialists, she raised almost $1,300!
