On September 11, 2001, more than 400 New York City firefighters left their homes and went to work. It was supposed to be a normal day. Instead, it was a day like no other day. Those brave and dedicated men and women lost their lives saving others. To date, millions of dollars have been raised to support those who made the supreme sacrifice.
How AtHome America Helped
AtHome America President Lisa Brandau and her husband Fred traveled to Ground Zero in New York City in September 2002, to present New York City Battalion Chief John Quevedo a check for $100,000. Each family affected by the tragedy received a share to help with essentials.
