"Empowering People, Changing Lives”

www.bobbydodd.org

Bobby Dodd is known to most Georgians for his years of coaching winning football teams at Georgia Tech. However, he also dedicated his life to serving those less fortunate. Bobby once said, "The more you see of persons with disabilities, the more you care about them and the more determined you become to do all in your power to see that they get the best possible chance in life.” In 1965, the Bobby Dodd Center was founded to aid those living with mental disabilities.

Though the name later changed, the mission stayed the same: to empower people with disabilities and disadvantages by maximizing their potential by securing their economic self-sufficiency, independence and integration into society. The Bobby Dodd Institute helps to serve veterans with disabilities who might also have become homeless. The organization provides career planning, job training, job placement and retention services. BDI works primarily with people with developmental disabilities, such as autism, down syndrome or mental retardation. However, a significant portion of their client population also includes those with physical or acquired disabilities. BDI also works with women who are economically disadvantaged through its GoodWorks! Program.

The HelpAmerica Foundation is proud to present the Bobby Dodd Institute with a $10,000 donation. Pictured accepting the award is David Pass, Director of Stakeholder Relations.
